  • What is Chiropractic?
According to the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) - A health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation.
  • Is Chiropractic treatment safe?
Yes, chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very low.
  • Do I need a referral?
No, you will be able to schedule an appointment directly through the website.
  • What is a chiropractic adjustment?
Chiropractic adjustment or manipulation is a manual procedure that utilises the highly refined skills developed during the Doctor of Chiropractic’s intensive years of chiropractic education. The chiropractic physician typically uses their hands, or an instrument, to gently manipulate the joints of the body, more specifically the spine, to restore or enhance joint function. This often helps resolve joint inflammation and reduces the patient’s pain. Chiropractic manipulation is a highly controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. The chiropractor adapts the procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often note positive changes in their symptoms immediately following treatment. - Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA)
  • What is the popping sound heard when receiving an adjustment?
A Chiropractic adjustment of a joint, in the spine or throughout the body, results in gas bubbles being formed and results in the popping sound heard. The sound is due to the change of internal pressure within the joint. Chiropractic adjustments help relieve pain and help reduce neuromusculoskeletal symptoms.
